This Christmas Season is a little different

Christmas has always been my favourite time of year.  But this year it is a little different.  My Christmas spirit hasn't gone anywhere but my priorities sure have changed.

It used to be that I would stress about having the perfect Christmas, that I need to get extra food or extra stuff just in case, but this year I don't have those stresses.  I have been the most relaxed I have ever been during this season.

I think it has to do with not having the stresses of family coming over for dinner and having to buy all these presents for my teenagers.  This year (if all goes as plan) we will be hitting the ski slopes during Christmas.  No fancy Christmas dinner to worry about, no major present buying and making sure the house looks perfect. None of that!  It will just me and my family on the ski hills.  And if we can't go because of restrictions we have decided to stay home, relax, eat and play games.

I have to say that I am thankful and grateful that this has happened. It has really put into perspective what really matters and what doesn't.  Don't get me wrong extended family (whomever that might be for you) is extremely important but having time with your family and enjoying new traditions is what makes the magic of Christmas.

So this year I encourage you to go out and make some new traditions and enjoy every minute because life is too short not too!
